The main forms of use of the Dnieper floodplain in Kyiv in 1240 -first falf of XIX century: river, its floodplain and islands. Agriculture is considered: haymaking, animal husbandry, growing vegetables and fruits, hunting, fishing, boarding. Attention is also paid to such aspects as navigation, harbors, crossings. The division functioned as a shopping center. Trade, distilling and attempts to breed silkworms were carried out here.
